Our code of ethics dictates that Muralto must provide benefits to customers, employees, community and suppliers.
We meet customer expectations, respect their privacy and maintain credibility by striving to exceed their needs and priorities.
We give equal opportunity to all employees, enforce anti-discrimination policies and support unionised representation. Employees are motivated and given regular skill enhancing training to deliver excellent service to customers.
Muralto donate a percentage of our profits annually to worthwhile South African charities and causes. Recommendations on donations are put forward by employees in Cape Town.
Our suppliers acknowledge that their activities have an effect on the environment. To manage their obligations we undertake to:
- understand the environmental impact of their and our activities and treat it as an integral factor in all decisions around sourcing hard and soft materials
- implement and maintain comprehensive environmental policies so that our actions are carried out in a responsible way
- be transparent about and accountable for our environmental performance.
For example, our timber is sourced from MTO Forestry ZA who are committed to sustainable forestry for the health of the environment and the economy. They own 14 plantations between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. This represents a total area of 118,476 hectares and yields a harvest of some 480,000 cubic metres of timber per annum.
